We have made significant progress during our first three years of operations of Lowe’s YMCA. It has been a blessing to see our branch become a center piece in our community and a place for families to gather and grow in spirit, mind and body. It is fulfilling to witness the impact in our community through the many programs offered and the opportunities available for volunteers to contribute in many capacities to make our community a better place to live, work and play.
The YMCA is a very important part of my life. I have served as a volunteer for ten years. It provides me an outlet to serve the community that I enjoy so much. I can truly say that one of the most touching and exciting moments was witnessing an estimated nine thousand people sitting in relaxed family and friend units all across the YMCA property on July 3, 2007 to enjoy an evening of fellowship and fireworks in celebration of our independence.
I am proud and blessed to have the opportunity to be a part of the Lowe’s YMCA family and continue the journey of serving our community.
